1.I hereby revoke all former wills made by me and declare this to be
my last will

4. I give the sum of £5000 to each of my grandchildren who shall survive me and attain the age of 18 years and I direct that such legacies shall carry the intermediate income
5.Subject to payment of my debts funeral and testamentary
expenses and all taxes arising from my death and payment of the legacies mentioned in clauses 3 and 4 hereof I give all my estate both real and personal whatsoever and wheresoever’s to such of my
children andas are living at my death and if
more than one in equal shares
6. I desire to be cremated and have my ashes scattered over my garden

Note: In this example the grandchildren have not been named so as to allow for the possibility of further births before the testator’s death. This may well be a consideration if the testator’s children are still young If it is fairly certain that no further grandchildren will be born, it is better to name them by inserting their details after the word ‘grandchildren’ in clause 4.
